This pattern is from Karina Westermann's collection, Doggerland: Knits from a Lost Landscape.
Karina says, "The Gillean wrist warmers are designed to be a project suitable for colourwork beginners. The wrist warmers employ no shaping nor increases/decreases, thus allowing the knitter to focus on the meditative nature of the knitting.
The wrist warmers use beautiful natural yarns produced in an island community and colours rooted in the landscape. They are a companion piece to the Gillean hat - both the hat and the gloves take their name and inspiration from Caisteal nan Gillean, a Mesolithic archaeological site on the Scottish island of Oronsay."
NB If you would like to knit both the Gillean hat & the wrist warmers, you will need 2 hanks of the Snældan 3ply for the main colour but just one hank of the two contrast colours.
